Having seen the covers of The Wire Seasons 1 and 2 DVD sets, as well as having scanned the Wikipedia article on the show, I can aggressively give this show two thumbs up. With its portrayal of both blacks and whites standing in the middle of the street, Season 1 opens our eyes to the “drug-dealing Barksdale Organization and the police detail who are investigating them. The first season aired Sundays at 9:00 p.m. in the United States. The season was released on DVD as a five-disc boxed set under the title of The Wire: The Complete First Season on October 12, 2004, by HBO Video.” Season 2 follows with a gritty look at what appears to be a suspension bridge next to a black guy and a white guy walking. The season only gets better from there as “The second season aired Sundays at 9:00 p.m. in the United States. The season was released on DVD as a five-disc boxed set under the title of The Wire: The Complete Second Season on January 5, 2005 by HBO Video.” From what I’ve heard, this is one of the best television dramas out there and I definitely know that it takes place in Baltimore.
